We hold to an Evangelical Reformed position, putting a special emphasis on the Gospel, as being central to the message of the Bible.
Doctrinal StandardsWe hold to the 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith (2nd London) as our statement of faith with regard to our doctrine. We also stand whole-heartedly with the Affirmation 2010. We do, however, hold a high regard for the other like historic confessions which are similar, namely the Westminster Confession of Faith 1647, and the Savoy Declaration of Faith and Order 1658. SeparationWe believe in the Biblical doctrine of separation, wherein the Christian must be separate from the world, and the things of it, as they must obey the words of the Holy Scripture, and hold them in dearest regard above all else. We believe this applies also to worship, which ought to be Biblical and most reverent. IndependenceThis work must always be a part of the work of some local church. We do not want to be an independent ministry, but rather, one sent out from a church, as is the pattern in the New Testament. We hold to the Biblical teaching of the local church, and do not wish to replace such. We promote the engagement of young Christian believers in the local body of believers, and merely desire to assist churches with reaching their young people. We are not a church, but at present, we are sent out from Bells Yew Green Chapel, East Sussex, England. Six-Day CreationistsWe believe in the inspiration and literal accuracy of the account of creation in Genesis, which is supported throughout the rest of the Scriptures. We believe in a six twenty-four hour day creation, by the power of God alone, without any other effectors in the creation. The Authorized VersionWe hold to the use of the 1611 Authorized (King James) Version of the Bible. We believe that this is the most accurate translation into English. For more information on why we hold to this version above the other modern versions, please see some Trinitarian Bible Society articles on the subject which may be found here: https://www.tbsbibles.org/page/articles |
The GospelWe proclaim that all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. Man, in his natural state, is totally incapable of doing anything good or meritorious in the sight of God, and is therefore justly deserving of Hell. Yet we present the way of salvation, by Jesus Christ's atoning death upon the cross for sin, and that all who repent and trust upon his name after conviction of sin shall surely be saved from the wrath to come. Salvation is all a work of God; but God's command to all men everywhere is to repent, for 'Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners'. (1 Timothy 1:15). Failure to repent is a sin against God, and therefore we call all, young and old, to repent of their sins, and believe on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, the only appointed Saviour of mankind. Young PeopleOur mission is primarily to reach young people, however we believe that it is necessary for every person to hear and respond to the Gospel message, and are aware of the dangers which come with emphasizing this group above others. We very much encourage others who would not describe themselves as young people to look at our resources, and attend our meetings. We desire more of a family approach, and in focussing on the youth, also to be able to strengthen the family, and thereby all within the church. Personal HolinessWe believe that it is the duty of every one who loves Christ to seek a holy walk, in a manner in accordance with the Word of God, as taught in the Ten Commandments and the Gospel instructions of the New Testament. Though we hold that we are justified by grace through faith alone, yet we believe that good works and a holy life are necessary results of faith in Christ, and proofs of the same, to some extent. First-Day SabbatariansWe believe in the strict observance of the Sabbath Day, or Lord's Day, being held on the first day of the week, commemorating the rising of Christ from the dead, and following the pattern of the early church throughout the Acts of the Apostles.
We believe that this day is to be set aside wholly for the worship of God, and for communion with him; a whole day distinct from the other days of the week, when there may be rest for the body, and refreshment for the soul. |
